What we do

Our Procurement Services team buys the supplies and equipment our hospitals and clinics need to care for patients. This includes medical equipment like MRI scanners, everyday medical products such as sutures and bandages, as well as cleaning materials and food for patients and visitors. We make sure everything is safe, high quality, and best value for money.

By working closely with our suppliers, we help our hospitals and clinics run smoothly so staff can focus on giving patients the best possible care.

  • Write and manage contracts so suppliers do what they promise.
  • Check quality and prices to make sure we are getting the best.
  • Follow national rules and support fair and ethical buying.

Purchasing and Systems Team

  • Create and manage purchase orders so items are bought the right way.
  • Keep product and supplier information up to date in our systems.
  • Fix ordering problems, like delays or wrong items.
  • Help staff understand how to use the purchasing systems.
  • Create reports to show what we are spending.
Inventory Management and Logistics Team

Inventory Management and Logistics Team

  • Make sure we always have enough stock for wards and clinics.
  • Receive, store, and deliver supplies safely across our sites.
  • Track stock levels to reduce waste and avoid running out.
  • Check expiry dates and rotate stock to keep everything safe to use.
  • Work with wards and theatres to plan deliveries at the right time.

These teams are supported by our Procurement Programme Team, who help connect all the parts and make sure everything works smoothly together.
